Where would we be without Renault? That inflatable hunk of burning love has captivated ALO audiences from sea to shining sea, and his annual appearances at the High Sierra Music Festival are the stuff of jam-rock legend. Rising up over the crowd like a phreaky funk phoenix, Renault's commanding presence is well known for driving his throngs of devoted followers into an unprecedented state of shwirly dancefloor delirium. But where did he come from? Despite all the hoopla, Renault's origin has remained shrouded in mystery. When questioned about their mystical friend, the members of ALO have been vague or downright dodgy. "Hmmmmmn..." offered Steve. Zach said, "Renault? Hold on, I'm late for the bar mitzvah." This tight-lippedness stoked the burning flames of curiosity to a fever pitch... something had to give. Didn't it?
