Nice to meet you! If I was going to keep them, I would use them as canisters myself. The person I got them from did. I think they would go well in a modern kitchen to use or just for decoration. As far as the size of the one for coffee, the opening is about 7 inches long at the longest point, and a little less then 4 inches wide at the widest point and 6.5 inches deep. I'm not sure how big your cat is, but I think a small kitten could fit inside (hopefully for not very long :o) I'm just guessing, but you must be planning a "suprise" gift inside the container?
